Remove damaged concrete in the repair areas. Begin by removing the existing threshold from your door. Drill and place rebar reinforcement rods if needed. The driveway is asphalt butting up to the concrete threshold entering the garage.

Be careful not to accidentally saw into your flooring. Position the aluminum threshold against the outer edges of the door jambs so the holes in the threshold are 1 inch either way of the existing concrete anchors. The concrete threshold or whatever its called is broken and crumbling. They did remove it and replace the concrete but we don t know if they reinforced it with rebar or not.

Using a standard storage facility threshold as an example our concrete repair process would include the following fundamental steps. To cut a metal threshold use tin snips and a saw equipped with a metal cutting blade to make the cuts. Remove dirt and debris from chips and hairline cracks in the concrete threshold using a stiff bristle cleaning brush. Cut the old threshold with a back saw or a reciprocating saw.

2 mix a moderate amount of liquid detergent with 1 quart of water in a plastic. Mark each end of the aluminum. Use a pencil to make a mark on where to cut the garage door threshold.
